Cornbread Waffles with Gravy Bombs

Cornbread Waffles with Gravy Bombs

Ingredients:

  • 1 package Motley Que Cornbread Mix

  • Ingredients required by cornbread mix (usually eggs, milk, oil — follow box instructions)

  • 1 package Motley Que Country Style Gravy Mix

  • Leftover pulled pork or cooked sausage crumbles (about 1 cup)

  • Butter or Motley Que Double Butter Grilling Oil (for waffle iron)

Directions:

  1. Make the cornbread batter:
Prepare the Motley Que Cornbread Mix according to the package instructions. Stir until smooth.

  2. Preheat your waffle iron:
Brush or spray the waffle iron generously with butter or Double Butter Grilling Oil to prevent sticking.

  3. Cook the waffles:
Pour batter into the waffle iron and cook until golden brown and crispy on the outside (about 4-5 minutes depending on your iron). Set aside and keep warm.

  4. Prepare the country-style gravy:
In a saucepan, whisk the Motley Que Country Style Gravy Mix with water or milk (per package instructions). Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until thickened and creamy.

  5. Heat the pulled pork or sausage crumbles:
Warm your leftover pulled pork or cooked sausage crumbles in a pan or microwave until heated through.

  6. Assemble your Gravy Bombs:
Place a cornbread waffle on a plate. Generously spoon warm pulled pork or sausage on top. Then drown everything in rich, creamy country-style gravy.

  7. Serve immediately:
For max flavour and that perfect messy brunch vibe, dig in while it’s hot and dripping. This is comfort food on steroids.

Pro tip:

Add a fried egg on top for that extra “I’m owning brunch” energy.

Motley Que note:
This ain’t your grandma’s Sunday morning—this is a flavor explosion wrapped in buttery cornbread with a side of “holy hell.” Perfect for sharing… or not.
